Chronicles of Building an Adsense Site
Three months ago I began the process of developing a site for the primary purpose of generating revenue from advertising. I had no idea what it would take or how I get it. It's been an interesting journey.
I knew how Google AdWords work. I had the program in the past for other companies. I had seen Adsense text links and a couple of image ads from Google, but I always assumed that Google or the advertiser paid the site, turn to their ads. I admit I could not figure out for the life of me, why would some companies advertise on some of the most tasteless websites, but I think not really mind that much. Through a series of articles similar to this, I learned per click (PPC) advertising, and I could do it too.
I added Adsense banner ads on a few pages that I myself just for fun. One of them is a personal / family website, which receives, but hits a few of the week. I did it mainly on how Adsense and worked, how to get the code to a Web page. I am not a web developer. I hardly understand, HTML, PHP and know nothing about the Java scripting. It was a good learning process, but now I need to figure out how to use it to generate revenue.
I spent several weeks learning the best way to generate income with Adsense is through Web content. I do not know if this is what's interesting in my mind that someone is or is not, but I know I do not have the time to develop thousands of articles. I know some people that I pay to write for me and it would not be could be very expensive, but it will take time to produce that content and deliver it. I want to get started quickly. I have read that content is not duplicated, a good way to go, but I also discovered that many websites are just that. So I went for one of these sites to search for Adsense in a box. I ended up buying two different programs. One of adsenseready. com and one from adsensepages. com, even though they offer thousands of pages later I have been rather disappointed in these products. Even though I now with them, I recommend not think so. The content of these pages is reproduced substantially, and I have more than one manufacturer can sell this content, so I sure that this stuff is'm so oversold. I wanted to scrap my little project all together at this point, but I decided to make it into a learning lesson. I
the instructions that came with these two products, my site had followed began with some AdSense content. It took several weeks before ads would show up, and then appeared a few weeks before the ads associated with the content on the page. I learned this is more a feature of Google indexes the pages then the pages themselves then I learned that the articles peppered with defective or incorrectly coded links that I needed to be corrected. I know, for a little luck was on SED and other mass script editors I have many of the updates. This process continued for over a month and I'm still working on it.
Despite what the marketing around these products Adsense ready, you can not simply add or modify subsidiaries. Pulling out an old trick to programming, I developed my own method to control the advertisers on these pages. If you look and watch long enough I think you'll find out what I was doing. If you find it, e-mail me. I would like your input. I had to make many other changes and improvements. I have some RSS feeds for news updates on a set of products. I added a section for partners or reciprocal links. Which is about as important as it is when it comes to generating traffic. I am still researching the best reciprocal link partner websites. In summary
Adsense empire building is not as easy as most of the sites you want to believe.
